About Us

Welcome to Connections Community Methodist Church!

If you are able to visit our church “in person” one day, we hope you’ll enjoy your time with us, whether you’re visiting just for a short time or looking for a place to put down some roots and call “home”.

Our Church was formed in September 2020, with the amalgamation of two Methodist Churches – St Helen’s Road Methodist Church and Melbourne Road Methodist Church. Both churches had begun to worship together in January 2020, so were together for just a few weeks before the first lockdown began. We were so glad to be able to start worshipping in the building again in May 2021 and have continued to build our relationships in the new joint church.

After prayer and much discussion we chose the name “Connections Community Methodist Church”, indicating our desire to be connected to God, to each other, to our local community and the wider world.

We are a congregation of all ages, with members from the local community and also from different countries of the world. We worship with a mixture of traditional hymns, contemporary worship songs and also have a small Congolese choir called “Tumaini”, which means “hope”.

Faced with the many challenges in the world around us, we find our hope, peace and strength in the love of God and in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We know that we don’t have all the answers but we trust in God whose wisdom is greater than we can ever imagine and whose love is higher than the heavens and deeper than the oceans. If you have questions about life and about God which you’d like to explore, we would love to share the journey with you. Just get in touch.

We look forward to meeting you.
